What is the difference between a roof repair, re-roof and roofing replacement?

1. Trim trees and brush away from your home and powerlines.
During winter, heavy snow can accumulate on low hanging limbs and branches that hang over the roof of your home or powerlines and can cause damage.
EXTRA TIP: Rake mulch 8-12 inches away from your foundation and siding to prevent critters and insects from making your home their home.

2. Inspect the roof of your home from the ground. Begin by looking for missing or damaged shingles. Walk around the perimeter of your home and check the ground for granules. If you find missing or damaged shingles or signs of granules, call your roofing contractor for further advice.
EXTRA TIP: Walkaround the exterior of your home after every storm to check for damage. If you’ve recently replaced your roof, siding, gutters or windows, be sure to go over your warranty or call your contractor.  

3. Inspect and clean your gutters. Inspect your downspouts for obstruction and damages, remove obstructions and repair damages. Following safety precautions according to the manufacturer of your ladder, check your gutters and clean out debris. Flush with water to ensure proper flow and watch for signs of leaks.

4. Inspect your windows and doors. Inspect all doors and windows, including garage doors. Replace or repair any damages, spacing, loose fittings, etc., and caulk or install weather stripping to areas with a draft. This will help keep heating costs low.
