In addition to the asphalt shingle roof install, we also had rubber roofing and gutters installed. We worked with Josh Smith. When we first met with Josh, he explained everything to a "t", and that's exactly how the project was done! Josh always kept us informed throughout the process. Our roof was really old, so they had to remove 2 layers of shake and 2 layers of asphalt. From the roofers to the rubber roofing and gutter install, these guys worked hard and did an excellent job! Water was leaking from my skylight into my kitchen. When I called other repair people their statements to me was "well maybe it won't rain to hard" and "after today and tomorrow it should be sunny." When I called Performance Exteriors Adam came out to my house that day and between showers calked the skylight to try to help!! He pulled a team from another job to replace my skylight as soon as possible to resolve the issue. Now I call that excellent customer service!! When I called Adam with a question and left a voice mail he always called back in a timely manner addressing my concerns. The crew that was sent was polite, clean, and went right to work. No texting or talking on their phones before starting the repairs. They came, did a wonderful job on my repairs and there was not a scrap left on my roof or lawn when they left. I just say enough good about this company and it's employees.

I contacted several roofing contractors from the Owens Corning list of certified contractors and selected Performance Exteriors & Contracting. On the day work began, I mentioned several yard features (an egress window, fountain, and expensive Japanese maple) to Adam, to make sure they would not be damaged. Adam’s crew protected all shrubs around the house, removed two layers of shingles, installed ice/water protection over the entire roof, and shingled the entire roof before the rain started. The entire project would have been completed within one day, had the storm held off, and the crew returned the next day to add the ridge cap and clean up the yard. The entire process was well coordinated and I appreciated the level of communication from Adam including a return visit for a quick adjustment when I had an additional question. I would definitely recommend Performance Exteriors & Contracting to anyone needing a roof replacement.

Our 1880's home needed a new roof and gutters. Tear down and cleanup were 5 stars and work was prompt. Quote was consistent for this area, including the dozen plywood panels they had to replace. End product looks nice but no side flashing, which would look even better.

While having new gutters put on my home it was discovered that water had caused some damage to the roof on the eves. The gutter contractor recommended Performance Exteriors to come and take a look at the roof. Adam came and checked out the problem and gave me a quote for repair. Soon after I discovered another leak. Adam came and gave me a quote to repair both places plus to replace the entire roof on that side of the house. I chose to have the the entire roof on that side of the house repaired as it would be unlikely the new shingles would match 12 year old shingles. While the work was being done Adam was present part of the time making sure I was happy with the work being done. He informed me the new shingles did not match the shingles on the back of the house. I expected this and told him to finish the job. My only minor complaint is that they were unable to use colored flashing around the chimney. They did spray paint the flashing to make it look better with the roof. This is the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. If I could have I would have given them 4.9 stars. All the rest of the work was done very well and professionally.

We had a very positive experience with Performance Exteriors. We contacted them for a quote for our roof. They informed us that our house had been impacted by a hail storm last spring. We had had 3 previous quotes, and no one had mentioned that, or suggested that we contact our insurance to assess for hail damage. I normally do all my own siding and roofing and carpentry, but the home we needed done was 2 1/2 stories tall and included a stand-alone garage. It was not feasible for me to get the job done this summer, as I normally work alone. I am very pleased with the speed and quality with which they accomplished the job. Matt and Adam communicate very well with the customer and they kept me in the loop throughout the procedure. We had all of the windows and doors wrapped in aluminum and new siding installed and soffit and fascia and the pricing was extremely competitive. The result was outstanding and exactly what I had hoped it would be. They were professional and very receptive to any suggestions I had. The daily cleanup, and final cleanup were outstanding. My family and I had done a complete remodel of the interior, and are proud to say that the exterior looks just as exceptional! I would like to add, that Adam and Matt did an excellent job and their roles. It was not easy for me to seek professional help, but they even made the transition seamless and very rewarding. Everyone involved on our end has been very pleased with the way we were treated and with the quality of the work that was completed. You should probably take those guys out for a steak once in awhile. Thanks again!

I was strongly impacted by Joe Elias and Performance Exteriors and Contracting when I saw them grilling up free food in front of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 8. You see the church had lost it roofing due to a hail storm ( a $70,000 job) and couldn't run its food pantry. So what did Joe and PEC do? Not only did they give out free food which they were grilling up themselves, but also pursued insurance coverage for the church's roof damage. The end result? The $70,000 job became a $1000 outlay only for the church. They do assessments, they connect you to an independent insurance claim specialist to represent you, and then they do the Awesome work on your roof. The Bonus? They are located right here in Madison at 4601 Helgesen Drive. Kudos to the PEC team. Really Impressive. I highly recommend them.

I had a wind insurance claim on a family owned cabin - received a quote from PE and then spoke to them about the difference in their estimate and what insurance was providing. I was impressed with Adam's confidence that PE would be able to get the full cost of the roof job covered (minus my deductible of course). No other roofer communicated their ability or willingness to do this. Adam's communication throughout the process was top notch - eventually getting the insurance to pony up the proper amount for the job. I was not present for the actual work done - but a neighbor relayed, "I wish I had them do my roof" after observing the efforts of the guys doing the job. Weeks later, I communicated some observations of the work completed - Adam went out to the house the next day to address them. Rare is it for a company ....and an individual within....to demonstrate such communication, commitment and effort. I would be hard pressed to find an individual that goes above and beyond to the extent of what I experienced with Adam and PE.
